Letter of the Week: B / Teddy Bear Picnic

B is for Bears!
I've been wanting to let Noah have a Teddy Bear Picnic with some of his friends for awhile now, and it was perfect for B week. Some of our friends came over for a playdate one morning, and enjoyed all things teddy bear.

Noah was so excited about his teddy bear picnic. That morning, he came into my bedroom having changed into this set of pajamas and his teddy bear shoes on his own. I thought pajamas sounded like a great addition to the fun, so I let the other mommies know their little ones could wear pjs if they liked.

The kids had great fun playing with all the teddy bears as well as some teddy bear activities I set out from my classroom.

Our Teddy Bear Picnic offered all things teddy bear coupled with many "B" items.
bear napkins & blue plates in a basket

bear-shaped sandwiches & cookies along with blue yogurt

bear-shaped cheese

Stuffed teddy bears were scattered about for decor.
Fresh strawberries, blueberries & blackberries, bear fruit snacks, dried cranberries, spinach leaves, more bear cookies and berry juice boxes were served as well.

Our teddy bears and their friends that enjoyed the morning with us -
Britton, Wyatt, Ethan, Maddie, Noah, Truett & Gage

Well, I guess it wasn't really a picnic. I didn't feel like setting up everything outside in the raging hot heat, so we dined happily and comfortably in our home.
The kids were way to0 busy scarfing their food down to pose for pictures!

Ah, here's the only pic I managed with kids looking at the camera. Thanks Truett and Maddie!
I can't blame them though. The kids were as hungry as bears!
The mommies lunched on Alley Cats' wraps, pasta salad, berries and yogurt after the kiddos enjoyed their lunch.

The Village People pre-fame
(Noah has quite a dress-up box, and the kids had fun raiding it.)

Before our picnic, I read two stories to the kiddos and played several teddy bear songs. We danced with our teddy bears of course! We also did the Bear Hunt which is always a hit.
I'll continue our B Week activities in my next post.

Picnic's are the most fun things.
Even better with friends. Looks like lots of fun.
