Summer Fun!

Noah and I have had fun the last few days splashing and playing in the pool with our friends. We're so glad they're sweet enough to invite us along b/c we're too cheap to pay for a pool membership!

As if you couldn't tell, we're loving these sweet days of summer! I'm going to miss our daytime playdates and get-togethers with my girls and their kiddos when school starts back!

Apparently, I'm going to have to teach my son how to make a funny face. Who knew?

11 Years of Marriage

Marco and I celebrated our 11th anniversary this past Saturday. For lunch, we ate at Abuelo's, which is the same restaurant we ate at on the night Marco proposed to me. He didn't propose at Abuelo's (it was later that night), but we did eat there that evening. On Saturday, we were seated at the exact same spot we sat at on that night 12 years ago when he proposed. It wasn't arranged or anything. It just happened. Pretty neat!
Later than afternoon, Marco surprised me with a homemade pumpkin cheesecake for dessert that he made himself. There's a story behind it though. Probably about 5 years ago, Marco and I ate dinner at Olive Garden one night. Of course, you're always too full to eat dessert so we never end up ordering any even though it looks so tempting. That night though, I ordered a slice of pumpkin cheesecake (which they only have during the fall) to go so I could have it sometime in the next few days. I asked Marco if he wanted anything for later, and he insisted he did not. We went home, and the cheesecake sat in the refrigerator until one evening when I came home having planned on eating it as a sweet treat. You know you've done it too. You get the hankering for something and you look forward to it all day long. Well, what if it was gone!? Yes, I mean GONE! I went home ready to relax and sample my pumpkin cheesecake, and it was nowhere to be found! To my surprise, my husband had eaten it. He knew I had ordered it for ME (remember I asked him if he wanted any, and he said NO), but he ate it anyway. Well, needless to say, I was very disappointed and have not in the last 5 years had a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. If you know my husband, then you know he didn't feel the least bit bad about it either. Well, here, after about 5 years, Marco decided to make it up to me and make me a pumpkin cheesecake himself. He did a great job. It was delish!
Marco also took me to see The Proposal, which was so cute! For our gift, we always get an "us" gift instead of buying something separately for each other. This is how we bought a video camera years ago, our GPS system last year and for this year, we both bought iPODS.
It has certainly been a wonderful and exciting 11 years. We've actually been together for 15 years since we had our first date. That means that I've spent half of my life with Marco so far, and I can't wait to spend the rest of it with him. I love you babe!

Marco's masterpiece - Doesn't it look yummy!?

Noah spent the day with Grandmommy and Granddaddy while Marco and I celebrated. He had a blast playing in the "big" slide/pool all day.

Great Wolf Lodge

Here is a ridiculous amount of photos from our trip. Of course, it's not near all the ones I wanted to post!

AHHHHH!

my adorable little fishing buddy - Papa bought him all the gear he needs to go fishing.

When we drove up to Bass Pro Shop, Noah yelled, "I want to go see the fish sticks!" He said this repeatedly while we all giggled. He was talking about "fishing poles," but says "fish stick/sticks" instead. Too cute!

Maya and Papa entertained Noah in the backseat on the way to and from Grapevine.

Maya and Noah entertained themselves at dinner by making Wikki Stik glasses.

Noah with Wiley the Wolf
We took Noah to "Under the Stars with Wiley Wolf" one evening. He got a knapsack with a telescope, compass, coloring book, Cub Club bracelet and star chart. The kids sat around a "campfire" while looking at stars and got to sing a few songs, eat smores and see Wiley the Wolf all while wearing their pajamas.

Noah painted a wiggly wooden snake at the Cub Club.

Happy Birthday Kristi!

Our sweet friend Kristi had a birthday last week. We enjoyed a night of good food and good friends at the McMillon's home in honor of her.

It's Been Awhile

Last week my brother came into town to visit. Noah and I spent all day Monday at my parents house visiting with them and Richard, and then on Tuesday we all headed to Snyder to see both of my grandmothers. It's been awhile since we were all together, so it was nice to see everyone.

Batter Up!

T-ball season is still in full swing, and Noah is still loving it! Here are some pictures and videos from Noah's latest game.

Noah's heading up the pack to catch the ball.

If you look closely at the picture above, you can see white chalk all over Noah's leg. That's from sliding into homeplate. There are videos below of it.

pep talk from Daddy

It was really hot and Noah was putted out by the end of the game. He needed a little encouragement from Daddy towards the end.

Noah slides into homeplate everytime. Here are two of his slides.

Cute!
