Letter of the Week: T

T is for Trucks, Tractors and Trains.
T is for Towers.

T is for Trains.
Of course we had to pull out Thomas the Train and have some fun playtime with Daddy.Noah has had this train puzzle for several years, but he still loves it because once you put in the last piece it choo-choos like a real train. So cool! It's like a round of applause for finishing the puzzle.
T is for Toy Story.
I planned T week to coincide with the opening of Toy Story. He loves going to the "movieator," but there are rarely any appropriate movies showing. I purchased Toy Story gummies ahead of time at Wal-Mart along with a Toy Story t-shirt for my little man.

My kiddo is a huge popcorn fan, so here he is all decked-out and ready for the movie. He's rockin' the cool 3-D glasses along with his headphones. He told me he was a "radio guy." I don't know where he got that from. We came up with headphones for the movie theatre b/c he is not a big fan of how loud it is. He ends up holding his ears the whole movie, so these worked perfectly! He had both hands free to enjoy his snack.

so cute!

T is for Tackle Time!
This is Noah's favorite! He loves to tackle (or do any kind of playing for that matter) with his Daddy. He and Daddy have their special playtime every night before bedtime.

T is for Tornado.
I showed Noah (or should I say Buzz Lightyear) how to make his own tornado in a jar.

T is for Track.
I took Noah with me to walk the track at Redbud Park. He was all for it in the beginning, but he soon thereafter fell and scraped his hands and knees. He was then ready to be done with it. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.
T is for Tree.
I read Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom, and then Noah used these cute little letter tiles to re-enact the story on his own.
T is for Tree, Turkey, Triangles (Bugles), Tangerines,
Train, Toast & Tye-Dye (milk).

T is for Tent.
I finally pulled out the tent that Grandmommy and Granddaddy gave Noah for his birthday. We had to wait on his big boy bed to come in, and then I wanted to save it for a special treat on T week. So, it just now made it's debut, and Noah loved it.
My brother had a camo bed tent when we were growing up, and I can remember having lots of fun in it. I'm so glad Mom was able to find one for him.
T is for Tee-Pee.
Daddy is always up for some fun with his little buddy.

T is for Television and Thomas the Train.
T is for Target, Ten and Toy.
I took Noah to Target one afternoon and handed him a ten dollar bill. I told him he could use the ten dollars to buy a toy for T week, and off he went. Choices, choices, choices. It was a great lesson is realizing that you don't always have money for everything you want. You have to stay within your budget. He would pick out a toy on one aisle and then change his mind on the next. He eventually narrowed it down to one toy. He chose a plastic knife from a new line of toys for The Prince of Persia movie. He has swords, a pop-gun, a bow-and-arrow and now a knife. If you hadn't noticed, my son is all-boy and loves to play with "fighting" toys. The teacher in me tried to squelch this in the beginning, but I have now chosen to fully embrace it (well as much as I can). God created him as a boy, and I need to let him play accordingly.
Oooh, see the mean face. Can't you just imagine the many battles he has had fighting the bad guys?
T is for Triangles.

Noah loves to play school, and has taken an interest in writing letters and "words." We sat down one day to practice writing the letters we've focused on this summer. I was only going to have him write each letter a few times, but he insisted on writing each letter all the way to the end of the row. He was very proud of himself and asked to not erase it so he could show Daddy when he came home.

My goodness, he is going to be ready for school when the time comes. His kindergarden teacher wont have to do any work.
