Letter of the Week: S

We had loads of fun focusing on the letter S. There are lots of fun things to do, and we never have time for all the things I think of, but we sure do try!

S is for Spiderman!
My little guy loves Spiderman, so of course, we did lots of Spiderman things this week. One of the first things he did was open up a a surprise gift which contained a Spiderman t-shirt.

These are the bad guys. Marco drew the first two, and Noah drew the last one. I hung them up in the backyard while Marco distracted Noah. I ran into the living room and hurriedly announced that we needed Spiderman because there were bad guys in the backyard! So, "Spiderman" (aka Noah) ran outside with Marco and I to fight the bad guys.
S is for Silly String!
I gave Noah a can of Silly String as his "web" and he went to town "catching" all the bad guys with his "web." It was pretty cute!

Noah begged me for a Spiderman umbrella awhile back. I picked it up and saved it for a special occasion, and it seemed appropriate to add it to the fun. He LOVED it! I came around the corner after taking a shower one morning and found him watching his video with his Spiderman umbrella in the bed with him. He was determined to use it come rain or shine! So cute!
S is for Spaghettios.
S is for Spider.
I had a few Spiderman tatoos left over from Valentine's cards, and when I asked him where he wanted it, he insisted on putting it on his chest because that's where Spiderman has his.

S is for Circle?
(Well, maybe not, but it does start with the /s/ sound)
We focused on circles and squares this week, so here is a special lunch I made for Noah one day since he seems to want all his meals "special" now. Apparently, I've created a monster. :)
S is for Straw Soccer.
This is a fun little game I made up one afternoon. I drew goal boxes on paper and gave each of us a straw and two soccer balls. Noah and I had a blast blowing our soccer balls into each others goal with straws.

S is for See, Search and Spy.
Yes, Noah insists on using the binoculars backwards.

S is for Star and Sandwich.

S is for Sesame Street.
Noah enjoys playing games on the Sesame Street website.

S is for Socks and Soft.
I gathered a variety of Noah's socks and hid various items in each of them. Some items were hard and some were soft. Noah had to feel of each item before he took it out of the sock and tell me whether it was hard or soft.

S is for Sock Sort.
After our hard/soft activity, Noah sorted the socks back with their partner.

S is for Swim, Snack, Seven, Strawberry (Gatorade),
Snickers and (donut) Sticks.
Whew! Lots of words with that one! We focused on the numbers 6 & 7 this week, so after swim lessons one day, we went by 7-11 to get a special snack. I let Noah search for items that began with S to bring home for a snack (he only ate a little bit each day so they lasted the week).
I should have posted the swim pictures with this post because I had saved "S" week for the week we started swim lessons. Oh well!
S is for Special, Star, Sprinkles, Slices, Stripes, Sticks, Straw, Snake, Skittles, Sunflower, Spiderman, Sandwich and Seeds.
As always, before he dives in to his letter of the week tray, Noah tries to spot all the things on his plate that begin with S.
S is for Sonic, Snack, Slide and Sand!
Yum! Yum! Noah and I had a tasty snack at the Sonic on the hill one afternoon. It's a kid-friendly destination with the fun playground. I wish every Sonic had one.

S is for Silly!
My boy definately knows how to do silly! I love him so!
