A Beautiful Day

We have certainly had a crazy winter this year. It always gets cold during the winter, but we've never had so much snow before. Amidst the freezing, windy & snowy days was a lone spring-like day this past weekend. It was so beautiful, we couldn't help but get out and enjoy it. The zoo was the perfect place to enjoy the lovely day, and Noah's been asking since last summer to go. We enjoyed getting to see the monkeys & the giraffe of course. The lions were both up and about this time, and we even saw the white tiger for the first time. Noah informed us that it was a "zebra-tiger." I guess, he's right about that. Zebra's are supposed to have the black and white stripes. Anyway, they are doing lots of remodeling and building some new exhibits, so that will be fun to see in the future.

One of the zookeepers gave Noah several handfulls of this plant to feed the giraffes. They LOVED it! Crackers got the snub after that.

We always take cereal or crackers along to feed the fish off the pier. Noah learned a great science lesson that day because he wanted to throw the cereal off the front of the pier, and it kept blowing back all over us. After several attempts, we convinced him that the wind would continue to blow it back so we needed to move.
