The Duck Feast

During our week at Maya and Papa's house, one of our favorite activities became feeding the ducks. There is a large reservoir there and there were hundreds of ducks and birds all in the area apparently confused about the flight south because it was freezing there. Anyway, we went the first time, and Maya just ran in the Dollar Tree to grab a box of cereal to feed them. We all drove over and hopped out to feed the ducks. It was so much fun that we decided to go back again and get several boxes of cereal. After that first trip though, we realized that that many ducks equals way too much poop on the ground. So, we just rolled down the windows, and they came running. We had so much fun! Seriously! We ended up going three days in a row and stocked up at the Dollar Tree with a grocery basket full of food for the Great Duck Feast! I've never actually bought food at the store intended for ducks. Of course, we just always clean out the old stuff. Well, you can get a ton of food for not much at the Dollar Tree, and the fun we had was priceless. Those ducks are definately missing us now!

Ok. Sitting on top of the car works too. These ducks were hungry!

Marco made friends with the ducks, and they came right up in the car to grab a snack.
Maya and Noah had tons of fun in the backseat! I really think Noah ate more of the food than he threw to the ducks, and Maya and Papa's car was covered in cereal and bread crumbs. Maya blamed it on Noah, but we all know it was Maya!
This is a picture of Maya trying to throw my poor child to the ducks! Of course, Noah had to protect himself, so he may have tried to push Maya out of the car too. :)

tons of sea gulls stopped off at the reservoir and appreciated the snacks too
