Christmas in Oklahoma

Just as we've done for the past several years, the day after Christmas we headed up to Oklahoma to spend a week with Maya and Papa. We love visiting and playing with them. We can always count on them to initiate or join in on crazy fun. It's also so nice because I get to relax. I don't have to do dishes or laundry, pay the bills, dust or anything short of just relaxing. Maya is a morning person so she gets up with Noah man and gets him going while I get to sleep in a little. We relax on the recliners and take naps snuggled up with fleece blankets on a lazy morning or a sleepy evening. So nice! Thanks Maya and Papa for being such fun and letting us relax awhile.

Ok. You are not going to believe this, but my husband actually tackled his mother and pushed her down to the ground in the snow! Now, while I thought this might be amusing, it quickly turned just plain wrong as he accidentally caught her shirt while he was tackling her and had it practically up to her neck. He didn't realize it, but poor Maya was left exposed to the world! I was filming the scene, until this happened, so I quickly turned off the camera while repeatedly yelling out things like "oh no! Poor Maya!" etc. Noah and I were in the car while this was happening and Noah started crying that Maya was being hurt. He was actually crying for her while I was torn between being embarassed for her and laughing my rear-end off. Maya is always good for a laugh, and we have several hysterical videos of Maya that if we just took the time to send them to AFV, we could be rich! Maya was a great sport and laughed the whole time. Noah's ending remark was "Daddy needs to go to time out! He was being mean!" Yeah, kid. Your daddy does need a good time-out sometimes. Beware people, this man will push his own mother down in the snow, so protect yourselves. You might be next!
Poor Maya!
You might be a redneck if . . .
Marco and his Dad rigged a garbage can lid up to a rope so Marco could pull Noah through a thin strip of snow left in his parents' front yard. I'm 31, and I've never been sledding, but my 3 year-old now has.
He was having so much fun!
