I'm a Ladybug! I'm a Ladybug! I eat aphids off a leaf . . .

Since Noah is my son after all, bugs are not his favorite thing. He sees how Mommy reacts to them and although he is not quite as girly or squeamish about the whole thing as I am, he knows that they can be yucky! Well, I realized that my son needs to not be afraid of bugs, so I set off to first introduce him to some very nice bugs . . . ladybugs! We carried them outside, so we could watch them crawl out and fly away. Noah didn't quite know what to think about the whole thing. He was intrigued by them, but wasn't like "cool!" So, I dove in and started letting the ladybugs crawl on me. I oohed and aahed, and talked about how cool ladybugs were and how they were "nice" bugs. He didn't exactly dive in, but he did enjoy watching them, and he finally let a few crawl on him, which he seemed to like also. Here are a few pics of our experience . . .

not too sure what to think about this

Maybe they will just fall into my bug catcher, so I don't have to touch one!

Some flew away!

Whoa! One is crawling on me (it's on his thumb)!

Wow! Maybe this isn't so bad after all.

Boy this is great. Kathy, I am glad you are getting prepared. Little boys usually love all kinds of bugs, worms and even frogs.
