Pink Eye

Apparently, I'm not as intelligent as I thought I was. Noah hears me say all the time . . . don't put that in your mouth, don't touch that, don't put such and such there, don't do so and so, etc., etc., etc. I could go on all day. All this "mothering" in hopes of saving him from germs and getting sick. Apparently, I need to listen to my own advice.

Yesterday, Marco, Noah and I all went to the Grace Museum to explore the childrens' museum. It is full of really fun hands-on exhibits. I wish we'd had it when I was a kid. Anyway, Noah had a blast seeing & touching everything. One particular exhibit was this hand-held eyeball that you hold up to your eye, and it projects what it sees onto a TV screen. Noah ran over to do it first, and then I did. I pressed it up to my eye for a few seconds, and I then realized what I was doing, so I pulled it away exclaiming "I hope no one had pink eye!" Marco took a turn next.

Well, at 3:00 this morning I woke up, and I knew. PINK EYE! I ran to the bathroom and was met with a nasty gooey eyeball staring back at me. UGHHHHH! I can't believe I did that! I've NEVER had pink eye before. NEVER EVER! I cleaned my eye and then went back to the bedroom. I told Marco about my eye and then informed him that he and Noah were probably going to get it also b/c all 3 of us did the "eye" exhibit at the Grace. Of course, Marco then told me that he didn't touch the thing to his eye he only held it in front of his eye, so he was fine. Duh! What possessed me to put the thing on my eye?!!!! Anyway, luckily, Marco did have pink eye a few months ago and had been given 2 bottles of medication instead of just one. So, I started the eye drops last night. All the while, I just knew that Noah was going to wake up with pink eye also, but miraculously, he didn't. He woke up with his beautiful, clear eyes just as healthy as could be!

So, here I am on Spring Break with pink eye, AND it's cold and raining outside. Yuck! Well, at least it's not worse. I could have put the train conductor hats on from the Grace and gotten lice. No thanks!

We all have to live and learn. Sorry about the pink eye.
