Hardin-Simmons Homecoming

I graduated from HSU five years ago. This weekend was homecoming, so I thought it would be fun to visit the campus and go to several of the homecoming events. Marco and I took Noah to the HSU Posse Kids Corral this morning. He got to ride one of the HSU Six White Horses, play on an air castle and slide, get his face painted, and join the HSU Posse Kids club. He got a HSU t-shirt and badge for joining. He was pretty cute! He looks so little!

Jenny is one of Noah's gymnastics teachers. Today, we found out she is also an HSU cheerleader. She looks great, but we couldn't get Noah to look at the camera to save our lives. He was way too busy looking at the air slide behind us. :)

Brandon is an HSU cheerleader and one of Noah's gymnastics teachers also. He is a great guy and amazing with the kids.

Brandon decided to have Noah do a "stunt." Of course, it is amazing that Brandon has that much arm strenth to hold up Noah with only one hand.

Noah actually did really well. Maybe Noah will follow in his Uncle Richard's footsteps and be an HSU cheerleader one day also.

Wheeee!

Noah had his face painted by one of the HSU cheerleaders. After the first one, he decided he had to have another. They oohed and aahed (sp?) all over him, and he loved being the center of attention. Noah has always been drawn to the ladies!

We attended the Homecoming Cookout, and enjoyed entertainment by the HSU Cowboy Band, Spurs and cheerleaders while we ate. Of course, Noah watched intently and said "play more" every time they stopped. He thought it was great!

Sometime since I graduated in 2003, HSU built a beautiful circular wall in the center of the campus with every person listed that has graduated from HSU. We found my name today on the wall and made a rubbing of it.

Noah got to put his name on "the wall" also as a future HSU graduate. His graduation year would be approximately 2028.

Keep saving those nickels and dimes Noah. Your piggy bank will help pay for college one day!
Of course, Noah can choose whichever college he wants to attend someday, but it's neat to let him feel connected to one.

Watching the water fountain

After we finished looking at the HSU pond, we saw the cheerleaders practicing before the football game. I was trying not to let Noah get too close, so he wouldn't distract them. Apparently they saw him though, and all of them yelled "Noah!" at the same time (he had met them all earlier at the Posse Kids Corral and had been the center of attention). Upon hearing them yell his name, he RAN straight to them, and they all started picking him up and loving on him. Brandon thought Noah should show off the stunt they had practiced earlier, and I caught it on video.

I know he must have had a great day. So much to do and see. He has always been a charmer. I can see he was one on this day.
