Happy Birthday Noah!

Happy Birthday to my sweet boy! I can't believe he is already four years old. He is getting so BIG! It blows me away how much he has grown over the last year. It is an amazing stage in life because he is so big and can do so much all by himself, but he is still very much my baby at the same time. He assures me he will still be my baby when he's all grown up, but I doubt he claims that when he's older.
For his birthday, we decided to go with a construction theme. He loves trucks, and he was enthralled with the idea of a huge pile of dirt in our backyard for him to play in. Of course, planning and organizing are very enjoyable to me (with the right event of course) so I loved planning his party. We decorated both the inside and outside of the house with our construction theme and carried the theme throughout every aspect of the party. If you're interested in more photos from the party, you'll have to check out my album on facebook.

The party was set up in stations around the backyard. The stations were named . . . explore it, dig it, haul it, build it, paint it and wreck it.
Dig it and Haul it - The kids dug in a huge pile of dirt and had plenty of construction trucks, shovels and wheelbarrows to help get the job done.
Explore it - The kids got to explore a wheelbarrow of dirt that contained numerous long, wiggly worms. Yes, they were real worms!
Build it - Kids hammered "nails" (golf tees) into "wood" (huge piece of styrofoam from fridge box) and had blocks, nuts and bolts to play with.
Paint it - Marco constructed a large playhouse with a fridge box and two other large boxes. The kids played in and painted it.
Wreck it - I rigged up a tether ball under the backporch and kids built towers with empty boxes and then knocked them down.

Happy Birthday handsome boy!

Noah received many wonderful presents for his birthday from both family and friends. His favorite though is this round swing from Granddaddy and Grandmommy. I grew up playing on the same kind of swing. My dad had made that one also. It was a favorite, and I am so thrilled that Dad thought to make one for Noah. HE LOVES IT!
