Noah had his very first soccer game this weekend. It was absolutely the funniest and most fun thing I've ever seen! All those little kiddos running after that ball in one big huddle just as fast and furious as they could was too much! Noah had such fun and really enjoyed running after the ball. Now, if we (I mean the whole team) can figure out which goal to kick it in we'll be set. We felt generous though and helped score a few points for the other team. After running up and down the soccer field (which seems really big for such little legs), Noah was still ready to play some more. He even got pushed to the ground by an overly-aggressive player from the other team. By pushed, I mean shoved hard in the back and run over! The poor kid did a face plant in the dirt. Where was the Red Card ref!? So, Noah is having to learn that sometimes you get knocked to the ground, and you just have to get up and keep going.
For our first game, we were inducted into the soccer world pretty well. It actually rained the entire game. I thought that surely they would not let our little 3-year-olds actually play in the rain, but oh they did my friend! So, I'm having to pack the car and prepare us for a whole new kind of messy. Uncle Richard would have been so proud. Noah even dons his uncle's jersey #6.
And they're off!
